The structure and 5-HT immunoreactivity in the visual system, midbrain, and suboesophageal ganglion of three beetles, Ambrostoma quadriimpressum, Henosepilachna vigintioctomaculata and Oxycetonia jucunda, were first studied by means of colophony-paraffin embedding serial section technique and streptevidin-peroxidase immunohistochemical method.
